Giulio Colombo, CEO of Colmar, Anna Barni, Product Manager of Colmar, Andrea Ferrari, Innovation Strategy Manager of RINA Consulting (Italian Broker of the ESA Technology Transfer Program TTP) and Antonio Iacchetti, CEO of Ribes Tech, Italian Institute of Technology (IIT) comment the experience and the results of the competition workshop SPACE FASHION DESIGN.
SPACE FASHION DESIGN is a competition workshop created and led by the professors Annalisa Dominoni + Benedetto Quaquaro at POLI.design, the Consortium of Politecnico di Milano, generated by the Higher Education Course FASHION IN ORBIT and supported by the European Space Agency (ESA), the Technology Transfer Program (TTP) and RINA Consulting, the Italian Broker of the ESA TTP.
Together with the fashion brand COLMAR we defined the brief, an innovative smart skiing jacket, and developed different projects thanks to a selected teamwork of young designers led by us. We took inspiration by Space technologies and innovative textiles to propose garments integrated with flexible solar panels, auxetic materials applications as well as electro osmosis process.
